Yesterday, I went upstairs to see if James had started the novel that we both have to read for our Contemporary Lit class, and he showed me a surprise on his work table. He had just completed his all art zine! Then, he asked me if I would help him copy it. After 4 hours and 40 dollars we produced a little over 50 issues of his zine. This zine consists of old and new work from the life of James as an artist. I wondered if he had put it together in one day. Well, he pretty much did, but it is the work from over 2 years with some drawings straight from his sketchbook, some paintings from a few months ago, pictures that he has been trying to find a use for the past 4 months, and finally, some sketches that he did just for this zine. These are all meshed into a bright colored cover (if you're lucky!) with professional lettering from the software Microsoft Paint. If you know him, you can get a special discount for it($2 plus shipping and handling). If not, you will have to pay full price(like $5 plus shipping and handling).

At the moment I am behind by 200 pages in War and Peace. My class meets at 11, and I am not reading.
Yesterday marked the first day that I wrote for over an hour in like 2 or so months. Thanks to the kitchen timer (which goes off at the end of the world) I made it through and wrote on. For the first time I made it through a short story, also. The story must be pretty lame, but I haven't looked at it.
Synopsis: A student goes into class early and writes: "Canada is a colony of the U.S." on the chalk board of his history 101 class. He nervously waits to see what happens (as do I). Then a few other students come in and one erases the board. The student that wrote on the board dreams of working in the oil fields and stocking up guns for the end of the world. Then he and the other student talk after class. Then he goes to the library checks out a book and starts reading. Back at his dorm someone knocks on his door and he goes and parties with his roommates.

not bad for the first attempt at a story in like 4 months.

Today at work, I didn't feel like writing my paper on "How do "Dover Beach" and "The Second Coming" explore the cultural implications of a loss of faith or religion?" So I decided to just listen to music. There are a few golden nuggets that I found; here are they:
The new site is wonderful. It is a cinch to find a band or artist that is collected in the database. The player is pretty nice also, with the ability to skip the talking of All Songs Considered to the clips that they play. I listened to the latest one with The guy from the Go! Team as a guest dj. He played lots of music associated with movie soundtracks and such. Pretty wild; I would check it out. Currently listening to Animal Collective live in D. C.
I found this site while trying to find tour dates for Frog Eyes. This has tour dates and also, mp3's for some mighty artists. This doesn't have too much content, but it is all very helpful.
For some reason everything that gets said on this website, I agree strongly with. Especially how they prove pitchfork wrong with like every article. They have a mix every month(all downloadable) which are always a treat.
P. S. I suggest also Dublab.com's future roots music; and tinymixtapes' reviews
also, I am glad that I finally have a myspace again.
