P. S.There will be a run of 50 issues total for 1-3 and the last 25 of these(which I haven't printed yet) are going to be on nice paper. They will all be the same color on the stiff kind of paper that you find on nice small press literature. For info on how to get a copy of one of these go to here:
http://www.panguitch.etsy.com
or
email me
It will be a bit before I actually get all of these printed, but yeah, they will look nice and fancy.

The whole online presence of my zine has really started to show its advantages. I have been recieving some submissions and getting some great feedback. I really haven't strived to put my zine on the map of the world-wide-web but I now see that at least putting an indicator of what legoverleg is, has been quite a good thing. Not only that, but people have been contacting me through e-mail with requests and submissions after they have seen the website that was done by my pal or after seeing this here blog.
So I finally decided to give some updates that are proceeding here on my end with the zine and the creative process. The last issue (issue no #3) was supposed to be a rough draft/literary journal where the reader could participate by editing the works that were there, but it turned out to be a failure. NO ONE SUBMITTED ANYTHING THAT NEEDED EDITING OR REVISING. They were all great. Even the Greggy Peggy puddin and pie poem, especially surrounded by the wonderful designs of James Lloyd, a friend and loyal member of the leg over leg staff. Well it wasn't too bad of in issue if you ask me, but here comes another out of the brain child of myself:
ISSUE #4: ALL ART!
so yeah, no more literature, or if you look maybe hard and long enough at this next issue you might start seeing words. A picture is worth a thousand words, and a thousand words could make many, many poems or a story about sitting on your own pet rabbit under the couch cushion. (see dead pet stories, another zine) But here it comes. Actually it is proceeding about as fast as a herd of sloths, but if any of you people out there would like to submit send:
3 pieces of art( the magazine will be in Black and White) to
legoverleg@gmail.com
or
223 n. 15th Pocatello, ID 83201
I can almost gaurantee you that you won't have much competition, so feel free to express yourself(plus I will send you some free copies of other issues). Thank you to all the people that have submitted thus far, and if you aren't an artist except with words the regular submissions are thus:
3 poems
or
1 story(1500 word max)
or
3 literary or artistic articles(creative non-fiction/magazine writing)
cool. That's about it. Keep those juices pumping. So long and have a wonderful day
-yours truly,
jeff pearson, poor man, editor-in-chief, exhibitionist (for today)
The Leg Over Leg website is all done, right before I finish issue #3 on editing and revising fiction and poems. You can check out the website here. It has some nice content from the first two issues, and also some web exclusive stuff. It is all designed by Alternative Country Wannabe. Everyone go and befriend him and thank him for all of his hard work and awesome website. I told him that he can have a life-time subscription for it, I hope it is worth it for him. Anyhow, the new issue is just about done, with one of my friends doing much of the layout. It looks really really good. But I think I owe Miss Scotch a copy since she is the only one on vox who submitted. Thank her also, and you can see her work in this next issue.
Plus if you want one, send $3 concealed to:

The reason that it costs so much is because I need to include a SASE with each zine.....
P.S. this zine comes with some awesome revision tips on a separate sheet of paper from my Creative Writing teacher.
attention writers!
Do you want your work revised and published? leg over leg
a local zine is producing two literary issues(#3 and #4)that
are in need of submissions: Rough Drafts
that you want to have worked and published by a plethora of
readers and writers. The edited copies will be bear a final
draft put together by two editors. With each submission you
will be granted a free copy of both the rough draft issue #3
and the final draft issue #4
Therefore, you may self edit and edit other people’s work to
be considered for the final drafts.
The first issue(issue #3): will have an introduction
designed
to produce a reader that can become literate in the art of
revision with an overview on editing marks, revision tips, and response questions for both poetry and fiction. Then, the issue will
contain the rough drafts of all the submissions with room on the pages for editing remarks and feedback. There will be a SASE with
each issue that will have directions on sending it in and an area for a return address, so everyone can get their rough draft issue,
issue#3 back. With all of the edited issues we receive we will make a
masterly crafted final draft for each submission (so the rights to allow us to edit the draft is required upon submission)
We will then create issue #4 which will contain the edited and
revised poems and stories of everyone that submitted.
This is an awesome chance to get published and learn how to make
your writing more effective.

The next issue of my zine is going to be reminiscent of a literary journal, but there are going to be many differences. This issue is going to contain rough drafts of people's work and guidelines for editing them. It will be a magazine on how to edit a literary journal. It will have directions on how to participate in the magazine process by using professional editing marks and strategies. The directions will require that the reader reads, edits, and returns the issue back to alexa and I, who will then create the next issue which will be the final drafts, then we will send everyone back their copies that they edited.
Each zine will include a SASE to send back into Alexa and I, so that we may create the final work.
But I need You! I need submissions from all different writers that will allow for their work to be edited by a large number of people and a final draft made out of the conglomeration of the editing. There are guidelines for submissions but if you submit there is a very good chance I will publish you, whether you are good or bad; all of the readers of leg over leg will help every author to improve upon their work.
These are the submission guidelines for this issue:
Poetry and short fiction rough drafts that are free to be edited, 3 pages maximum, typed, and sent in with contact information to:
legoverleg@gmail.com

-When submitting: any money donations, stamp donations, and envelope donations would be much appreciated and will guarantee the success of this project.
I have a great idea for issue #3 and #4, but I gotta go to mcdonald's before class so I will tell you all later.
signing off

Here is the scoop. I have been watching many movies lately, and with the season of the oscars, it seems pretty fitting. I don't really know what it is, but I have also had a ton of ambition lately. When I watched American Hardcore, I suddenly felt that whatever I do here while I am still alive, I better make it memorable: for me and also everyone else. That is a huge promise or goal, but I figure as long as I continue to have that mindset, I will accomplish something.
Issue #2 for leg over leg is finished for all of you that want it: send two dollars concealed to:

Back with the American Hardcore thing. The way that I am going to become memorable is by writing, since I don't really play any instruments and I feel like the music scene is dead. I would like to become influential as an author, somehow I want to become unique and fresh than with this I am going to make a change to how things are run. I want to make literature come back into style.
The other movies are:
Maybe I am too Idealistic, I don't care. I don't really fit in with the typical Creative Writing student, so I can do whatever I want. Yay! I got a new book, when Saturdayas.usual and I went thrifting last Friday.
Hmm...What am I doing? My weekend has been a train wreck. For some reason I keep making the mistakes that I try so very hard to never make....wow is that vague. I can't really go into detail, its too personal for the whole entirety of the internet 2.0 blogger fanbase of mine to read.
Finally, I am almost finished with an entire tv series. Six Feet Under. I have watched every, single, entire episode(except the last episode, which I was way too emotional to watch it last night) Its weird: I feel so close to death through a tv set, but at the same time I am like the characters within the series, I don't think I can deal with death. I really don't know anyone that can. I guess the people that believe death is a step into another room, or whatever. I don't really see it as an end; I see it more as a different place where I won't be able to do the same things that I do now. There will be better things to do than write. That's it. I am scared of death, because I am afraid of the possibility of not being able to write and love.
What is it? This death thing won't get off of my mind. I am completely fascinated with how people view death. When I went to church, I believed one way. Now, I believe completely different. Or maybe I just believe that I am going wherever evil, non-church goers go. My 2nd issue of leg over leg is going to be on death. That sounds completely unoriginal or stupid. Well, that's the kind of looks I get when I tell people that is what my next theme is. Wes Andersen to death: We can do anything, its my girlfriend and I's zine. She doesn't like to write, so I guess it really is up to me.
I am in a phone-a-thon next week.
Weekend:
A friend of mine returned from a religious mission after two years of being gone, and I visited him, yesterday. I was really quite frightening just the changes that happen in two years. He is a totally new person, even though I see remenants of his old personality. We went bowling and he kicked out the jams on both his brother and I. It seems that he has been practicing throughout the whole 2 years that I haven't seen him.
Returning from Illinois, he said that Idaho is much sweeter than there. I don't exactly know what that means, but I am sure he went through a lot. I mean, I see missionaries in town and they put with so much crap, mostly from the ex-members of their religion. One thing that is very funny, is how he wants a copy of Sufjan Stevens' "Come on feel the Illinois" I guess he can relate to all the places found on the album.
This friend was extremely influential to who I am now, and I wonder just what is in store for later. I hope that he comes to school at ISU, then we will collaborate and my zine will become artistic along with poetic, instead of neither. I am really interested to see how his transition will be, coming back into real life. I think the weirdest part about the whole thing, is how I just wanted to ask him about everything that went on...I was afraid that is would be too much and I am sure that he is going to get asked to tell stories and experiences that changed him.
He said he has learned so much: socially, morally, and about life. I wonder if I will be missing out, not doing a religious mission....
